Delta is apparently overbooking flights and then pushing strangers to sit next to each other. On a recent flight, they put a passenger on stand by next to a passenger who paid to be in one of their Comfort+ seats. When the passenger mentioned this they asked him to get off the flight if he didn’t want to sit next to someone with no offers to make up for the inconvenience or guarantee of a seat on the next flight. The standby passenger was allowed to stay of course, blatently violating the 6ft social distancing rule as shown in the image.

For all of Delta’s advertisements on making it safe for their customers, this is nothing more than a lure to bring people on their planes, overbook and then push them together, threatening to kick passengers off if they don’t like it.

For now it may be safer to avoid flying Delta during the pandemic until they can treat their customers safer.
